My blood type is O, do you recommend me being Vegetarian despite Peter Adamo’s blood type diet theory?

Tell because being a vegetarian will be conducive to my health or because they go with a diet high percentage of protein will be better (Adam 's theory) or perhaps tells me your personal experience or the experience of other O. All you need is your own opinion because the Internet is virtually a debate on both sides. We can to balance my sense. thanks, limb

The blood type diet is pure, unadulterated junk science. I can’t remember where I read it or I’d cite it for you, but a prominent evolutionary biologist came out and said that Adamo’s theory is based on tiny bits of info and wild leaps taken from them. A-B-O blood typing is a far newer evolutionary development than Adamo’s theory assumes, for one thing. He also said that, if Adamo’s theory was correct, the human race would have died out millenia ago. No truth to it, no evidence for it, only evidence against it.
I am O negative and have been vegetarian for 21 years. I am the picture of health.

There’s no reliable science behind the blood type diet — it’s just a fad. If you feel you’d be healthier going vegetarian, then go for it!

The healthiest diet is one with a variety of foods. Forget the latest internet fad diet crud, just eat a variety and you’ll be fine. I’m type o and I’ve never had a special diet and no problems. Eat a variety of whats comfortable for you and use moderation in all of it.

Peter D’Adamo’s blood type diet is, as Mockingbird says, junk science; he offers very little scientific evidence and relies on anecdote.
If you’ve read the book, you’ll know he covers his back by saying that individual variations still occur within blood types and that you shouldn’t expect all of his recommendations to apply to you.
Be a vegetarian if that’s what you want to do, but whatever you decide don’t base it on that piece of quackery

That blood type stuff is nonsense. I’ve been vegetarian for 7 years and I have type O. I’ve had blood panels done and I’m perfectly healthy. I even ran a marathon last year. Vegetarian diets are the healthiest on the planet. Try reading Becoming Vegetarian or BEcoming Vegan by Davis and Melina.

I have O type blood and am a vegetarian. I have never had any problems because of my blood type. Personally I think the entire blood type diets are rubbish, it all comes from the claims of one man and one book. I need more proof than one persons claims. I never read the book, but heard he doesn’t back up any of the information with actual/credible scientific proof.
No one needs meat. There is nothing in meat that cannot be found in a vegetarian source. Variety is the key to any good diet, if you are eating many different foods than you should be fine(regaurdless of blood type)
